World Literature and Translation Summit

The inaugural Translation Market world literature and translation summit at the Miami Book Fair was held on Thursday the 8th of November. It was billed as “a unique business forum for trade professionals, translators, educators and aspiring students of translation,” and lived up to its pre-conference claims. Many of those involved in the world of translated fiction in the US were in attendance, including Kent Carroll and Michael Reynolds of Europa Editions, and the event proved to be as useful as it was enjoyable. We wish the organizers well for next year.

Chad Post from Open Letter blogged the event. His impressions, giving a pretty thorough and concise roundup of the conference, can be found on the "3%" web site. Read
