Europa Editions featured publisher at McNally Robinson bookstores

Featured Publisher, Europa Editions...

McNally Robinson is a very small "chain" of bookstores. Our stores are defined by their communities, not by head office. Our stores are characterized by warmth, personal service, and local community involvement. We hold hundreds of author events each year.

McNally Robinson stores...

Grant Park. A pioneering store in the Canadian book industry, our Grant Park Winnipeg store opened in 1996 with the closure of two smaller McNally Robinson locations. Until the opening of our Saskatoon store in 1998 it was the largest independent bookshop in Canada; since then, it has been nearly so. Grant Park is 20,000 square feet, with a mezzanine children's bookstore and a full-service restaurant. As of April 2005, a 4,000 square foot renovation began that will create more space for dining in our restaurant, as well as an expanded section for our Fiction and Bargain Books.

Portage Place. Opened in the summer of 1998, this is a jewel of a store, at 7,500 square feet, with Prairie Ink restaurant and outdoor patio. Portage Place is the retail heart of downtown Winnipeg and McNally Robinson occupies a landmark location in the mall.

Saskatoon. Since 1998, our store on 8th Street has been Saskatoon's largest independent bookshop at 23,000 square feet, and has attracted a growing audience of dedicated book people. McNally Robinson Saskatoon has a mezzanine children's bookstore and a full-service restaurant.

Calgary. McNally Robinson opened a fourth store in downtown Calgary in September 2002 on the Stephen Avenue walk in the historic Clarence Block, a neoclassical building built by Peter Lougheed's forebears before World War 1. The store is three storeys high with 26,000 square feet of floor space, and features a central atrium under a large skylight. Joining us is DeMille's Technical Books, one of Calgary's oldest and best regarded booksellers. The new store also incorporates McNally Robinson for Kids with a special emphasis on well-informed choices for young readers.

New York City. On December 3, 2004, McNally Robinson opened a fifth store in downtown Manhattan. The store is located at 50 Prince Street in Nolita, an area of great vitality and home to many writers and artists. At 7,000 square feet on two levels, the New York store is about a third the size of McNally Robinson's other major locations, but it is one of the largest independent stores in Manhattan.
