Late Night Library Podcast Interview with Sara Levine

Date: Sep 26 2013

Welcome to our September episode of Late Night Debut. This month we feature Sara Levine’s debut novel, Treasure Island!!!  “Levine is a wonderful storyteller with a vibrant voice,” writes Rebecca Barry for The New York Times. “Treasure Island!!! is a rollicking tale, shameless, funny and intelligent. In her strong-willed protagonist, Levine has created a quintessential unreliable narrator, one who sees other people’s flaws perfectly and almost never her own, who feints and dodges nimbly around her deep feelings and questionable mental stability like a sailor dancing the hornpipe.”

Act 1: Host Paul Martone covers controversial and entertaining book stories in the news Act 2: Co-host authors Gabriel Blackwell and Michael Martone discuss Sara’s debut Act 3: Paul talks with Sara about all kinds of cool stuff     “While I was writing the book I thought, ‘This is a book about perception . . . it’s about the nihilistic wiles of the self-insulating ego.’ ”
