Europa Editions is an independent publishing house founded in 2005 with offices in New York, London, and Rome. We are one of North America’s leading publishers of international literature.
Among our authors we count six Booker Prize shortlist nominees and two winners, several Costa Book Award winners, two Pulitzer Prize winners, two National Book Award finalists, five winners of the Prix Goncourt, four winners of the Strega Prize, and one winner of the German Book Prize. Our titles have been named New York Times Editors Picks, and New York Times Notable Books of the Year; they have also appeared on the New York Times Bestseller list, the National Indiebound Bestsellers list, and countless regional bestseller lists.

We publish about 40 titles a year of fiction, non-fiction, and high-end crime fiction from around the world.
Proposed duration: January-May 2022
Hours: approx. 18 hours/week, flexible hours
Supervisors: Kristi Bontrager, Publicist; Edoardo Andreoni, Editor; Kathy Wiess, Director of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development.
The successful candidate will be supervised directly by managers of the marketing, sales, and publicity departments. They will gain experience in many aspects of the daily running of the publishing house. These may include but are not limited to: scheduling, preparing marketing and publicity material including tip sheets and catalog copy; direct-to-consumer marketing through social media, advertising, newsletters; developing effective digital creatives and campaign visuals; metadata management and optimization; online events management. Candidates will also have the opportunity to present titles internally, to salespeople, and to booksellers.
The internship offers a monthly stipend and unlimited copies of Europa publications.
NOTE ON REMOTE WORK & OFFICE HOURS
Candidates will be considered regardless of their physical location, but successful candidates must be available online during regular ET office hours, Monday through Thursday depending on final schedule.
Candidates residing in the New York City area will have the opportunity to work in our office in Manhattan, on a flexible schedule, provided that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the start of the internship.
Candidates must have access to a high-speed internet connection.
Other equipment, supplies, or subscriptions necessary to gain the experience offered via this internship will be available, pending approval.
